[Ash clenches his hands as he hears the news] That little.. [He let himself call the anon several names in his head. He called himself a few too. Idiot, why weren’t you there for her?!]

[He looks into the young girl’s eyes and smiles] Marona, that anon was wrong. You’ll always have your old friends and you’ll always have the new ones you made. [he kneels down so that he is now at eye level] You’ll always have your parents with you. They’ll always be watching over you. They’ll always be with you in here. [he points at her heart]

[he pats the girls head and lets his hand linger there] You’ll always have me Marona. I’ll never leave you.

She notices he seemed upset. “It’s okay, Ash…..”

Marona sniffs at his words, repeating to herself, “In my heart…? O-Of course! You’re right Ash, they’re always with me, and so are you!”

Marona hugs him again, giggling. “Everything’s just fine now, because you’re here again! Forever and ever, right?”

It’s okay to cry. [he wipes away her remaining] It feels good to let it go doesn’t it?

It’s good to be home. [he smiles down at her] So, tell me Marona. What happened while I was gone? And …who was teasing you? What did they say?

“Y-Yes…you’re right, but….” *she frowns at the mention of the teasers* “Th-There was an anonymous person who was talking to me a lot…he was saying things like….you’d never come back, and I should leave for being the Possessed, a-and how I was going to be abandoned by everyone.” *she hugs him again* “But he was wrong. Tee-hee I knew he was.”

[he wipes away his tears and takes a deep breath] Sorry… I can be pretty bad at holding these back sometime. [he gives her a small laugh]

And, yeah. I got kidnapped. He forced me to confine into a rock and then threw me into a bag. I think the guy said his name was Masahiro Yamamoto. [he shrugs]

[A smile spreads across his lips as he hears the news] What? You’ve made new friends. That’s gre- [he cuts himself off as she leans into his chest. He wraps his arms around her] Merry Christmas Marona.. I missed you so much.

“I’ve missed you too Ash!!” *sniffles* “S-Sorry for crying….y-yeah, everyone here is fine with Phantoms, I’m so glad. I don’t even know what to say besides welcome home!!” *hugs him tighter*

[He returns the hug and Marona holds close. A mixture of happy (from seeing Marona again) and sad tears (from seeing her cry) tears begin to form. He blinked them away. Be strong for her, Ash…]

No, Marona.. You didn’t do anything wrong. [he removes one hand from the hug and gently strokes her hair with it] Nothing you do could ever drive me away from here and from you.

I don’t know where I was… Some weird director kidnapped me. [he shivers slightly at the memory] He said that he wanted to turn me into DLC for Disgaea 4… I broke away from him. I’ve been spending all this time trying to return home..

[he moves his hand off her head and returns it to hugging her. He pulls her closer and looks down into the girl’s sobbing eyes. Tears began to well back up into his own] Marona, I’M the one who should be sorry… [he lets the tears fall] I’m sorry I wasn’t here to protect you…

*She blinks, confused.* “Someone kidnapped you….?? I-It doesn’t matter, so long as you’re okay Ash!” *She gasps* “Oh no, don’t cry Ash! It’s okay, I’m not hurt, and you’re back now!! There are a lot of nice people around here…though they’re a little strange. They don’t even mind my gift!!!” *Marona leans into his chest and closes her eyes.* “Best Christmas gift ever….”

*She turns to look behind her.*

“…A-Ash???” *runs over and hugs him* “A-Ash! I-I knew you’d come back!! S-Someone earlier kept teasing me saying you’d gone away forever but….” *she’s crying her eyes out* “Where did you go? Did I do something wrong?? I’m sorry!”
